The Story Behind
Bluebottle Weddings & Events
Meet Kelley,
your mountain wedding expert, creative partner, and calm in the storm.
I didn’t set out to become a luxury wedding planner in Sun Valley, Idaho. Like many good stories, mine began by accident—and then unfolded like it was meant to be.
After growing up in Washington State, I came to visit my sister in Sun Valley… and never left. Over the past 30 years, this mountain town has become home, grounding me with its beauty, its rhythm, and the deep relationships built here.
I’ve always loved working closely with people—whether teaching, caretaking, or creating. One summer, I helped a friend with her wedding planning business “just for fun.” Then one day, a high-profile couple needed a planner—fast. No one was available. Local vendors pointed them my way. I stepped in, took charge, and thought it would be a one-time adventure. It rained the entire weekend. I was soaked… and completely hooked.
That first wedding led to the next ten years of events—entirely word of mouth, without a website. That’s how Bluebottle Events was born: not from a business plan, but from trust, experience, and a deep love for helping people celebrate the most meaningful moments of their lives.

“Kelley is more than a wedding planner—she's part visionary, part therapist, and part fairy godmother.
She made us feel calm, confident, and completely taken care of.”

What We Believe
Your wedding should feel like you—not a copy of someone else’s Pinterest board. I don’t repeat events. Every celebration is a blank slate, designed intentionally around your story, your setting, and the season that surrounds it.
As a mountain wedding specialist, I bring insider knowledge of Sun Valley’s venues, vendors, and seasonal flow. But more than that, I bring the heart, humor, and hands-on experience that comes from years of navigating the details—so you don’t have to.
What It Feels Like to Work
With Me
Planning your wedding is a journey—and we’ll be in it together. Many of my clients become friends. I’ve babysat their kids, celebrated their anniversaries, and swapped dog photos long after the last dance.
I’ll be your advocate, your sounding board, and your logistics queen. I’m detail-oriented, solution-focused, and genuinely invested in making this unforgettable for you and your guests.

The Personal Side
When I’m not planning weddings, you’ll find me hiking with my dogs, soaking in Idaho’s natural beauty, and joking about writing a book called “The Coolest 38 Jobs I’ve Ever Had”—because I’ve done a little bit of everything. But wedding planning? It’s the one thing that brings all my passions together.
I love:
Working closely with people
Being in nature
Finding creative solutions
Making moments meaningful
Celebrating all kinds of love
